About Breakin’ Hits
Each week, teams of artists and collaborators are paired together to create new songs, to be performed in front of a LIVE audience.
Viewers are taken behind the scenes. From the first meetings between collaborators to the final run through of a song, we will see all the hits and misses. Expect fighting, blowups, meltdowns and all of the “Come to Jesus” conversations along the way to the live show. And when two well matched minds join together, prepare to have your mind and ears blown.
There is a tight deadline and nothing but perfection will do. Sometimes, it takes less than an hour to have a red-hot hit: Beyonce’s Single Ladies, Lady Gaga’s Let’s Dance, and the Beastie Boys’ anthem, Fight for Your Right were all composed in under an hour. But when magic doesn’t happen immediately, the creative struggle is real. Add a deadline and the race is on to achieve greatness under extreme pressure.
After the live performances, the artists and the collaborators will stand before the judges and receive their results. The judges will provide comments on both the song and the performance. Collaborators will also be asked about the process, the inspiration and how their creative egos meshed together: Who did what? Who did more? Would you work together again?
BREAKIN’ HITS, an international format will bring together Major Artists, who are looking for a career boost, unknown singers and bands, who are ready to explode, as well as Producers, Lyricists and Composers for the ultimate LIVE, hit-making television show. Live formats mean anything can and will happen. BREAKIN’ HITS holds the key to the creation of the newest,
latest songs, performed live. Live performances have dangerous possibilities: acts fall apart, words are forgotten, singers get pitchy and guitar solos could come undone with a broken string. We are tackling the toughest part of the music business – The Collaboration. Sometimes great minds think alike, and sometimes, like oil and water, there can never be a proper mix.
The live performance twist is that you never know who will perform on the show. You have to tune in to fine out. It can be anyone a national recording artist, an artist who is down in their career, or anyone off the street. Everyone is looking for the” Hit Song ” to Hit Number One on the Music Charts.
